Acne when cured can leave small scars where the skin gets a "volcanic" shape and can be difficult and expensive to treat. Physical acne scars are often referred to as "Icepick" scars. Why? These are the different types of scars that are result of acne:

Most of the time these scars can be avoided by trying not to pick, pop or itch the nodule or cyst. The good thing about these are that they nearly always fade with time taking between 3 months to two years to do so, although rarely can persist.
People with naturally tanned skin will develop brown hyperpigmnentation scars due to increased production of the pigment melanin. These too fade over time.
